Breastfeeding Products Helped Big Time
- My daughter was born early and I had to pump from the start since she couldn't nurse. That complicated the whole thing, but a good breast pump helped. I started with a hospital grade Medela and then went to a Medela Pump-in-Style. Since my daughter was so tiny and somewhat weak at first, a nipple shield really helped her figure out latch. However, if you think you need a nipple shield, I think it's a good idea to talk to a lactation consultant to work on the latch, because there may be an easier fix. I'm thankful that there are so many gadgets available now to help nursing moms. I don't think I could have breastfed for so long without the help.
