BOB Revolution Stroller Review

Riley, age 2, helps review the BOB Revolution jogging stroller.

The Bottom Line

The BOB Revolution stroller is fantastic for joggers, who will really love the smooth ride and wide wheel-base. It's also a pretty good stroller for everyday use, thanks to the ability to switch the front wheel to swivel. If you're a jogger who wants to buy just one stroller to meet your needs, you won't find many better options than the BOB Revolution. If you don't intend to jog with this stroller, though, you may find that the weight and size are more than you need. Either way, with the BOB Revolution, you'll get an incredibly durable stroller that moves effortlessly and handles any kind of terrain really well.

Guide Review - BOB Revolution Stroller Review

The Revolution stroller from BOB wants to be your jogging stroller and your everyday stroller in one sleek piece. On the jogging stroller side, it excels. The air-filled wheels give it an amazing, smooth ride, made even nicer by two-stage shock absorbers with settings for lighter and heavier kids. The stroller frame is very sturdy, so it's able to handle any trail you come across. Taller parents will appreciate the frame layout, which sets the wheels so that long legs won't kick them in most circumstances. There's also a wrist strap to keep the stroller close, an easy-to-use foot brake, and a sun shade that can be lowered enough to keep the sun out of baby's eyes at any time of day.

For everyday use, you can switch the front wheel to its swivel mode and it corners like a sports car. The stroller frame itself is big for an everyday stroller at almost 51 inches long and about 23 inches wide. You won't have any trouble getting through standard doorways, but the BOB Revolution certainly has a "big stroller" feel. The two-step fold is very easy to manage, and unlike many jogging strollers, the Revolution makes a pretty compact package when folded with the wheels off (about 32"x12"x23"). The stroller weighs 23 lbs, though, so it's definitely on the heavier side, so those who get the stroller in and out of the trunk many times a day might prefer something lighter.

The MSRP for the BOB Revolution is close to $400, but this stroller is often found online for closer to $330. For a top-notch jogging stroller, that's a great price. However, it doesn't come with the accessories that many parents like for everyday use. There's no built-in cupholder or parent tray, and you'll need to order a car seat adapter and rain shield separately. The accessories add more than $100 to the cost of the stroller.

The five-point child harness is easy to adjust, as is the seat recline. I love that the stroller can hold up to 70 lbs of baby, but the 21-inch seat height may limit the size of child you can comfortably fit in it. The storage basket is a little difficult to access, especially when the seat is fully reclined, but it's plenty big for an average diaper bag, and I like that it's very deep, so items won't roll out when you're on the go. There are also three storage pockets on the seat and the back of the stroller.

Overall, I really enjoyed test-driving the BOB Revolution stroller. If you're looking for a great jogging stroller, the BOB Revolution won't disappoint, and you'll easily be able to transition it to everyday use. If you don't intend to do any off-road ventures or jog with the stroller, you might be happier with a lighter-weight stroller that takes up less trunk space. No one will find fault with the one-hand, super-smooth steering or the stroller's ability to take tight turns in a hurry. Thanks to the sturdy frame and durable fabrics, the BOB Revolution should have good resale value, even after regular use.

Love My BOB, Member Mommy_SAys

I got this when my oldest was 8 months. I've had it 5 years and I'm looking forward to putting my 3rd in it when the weather warms up. It's excellent. Easy to maneuver, comfy for the kids, good storage area. 2 things I would like to see improve: I rigged the buckle straps to let me attach toys to the stroller. Nothing worse than interrupting your stride b/c the toddler dropped something. Also, the breaks needed fixing after 2 1/2 years. TO be expected I guess.
