The Bottom Line
Peek-A-Boo Bags are a great toy to use for travel or to keep in a diaper bag for long waits. Toddlers can hunt for different shapes among the white beads, while a parent names items from the included list that the child should be hunting for. It's an easy game for toddlers to understand, too.
Pros
  • Compact size is perfect for travel.
  • Holds toddlers' interest because the game varies each time.
  • Item list detaches so parent can read list to toddler.
Cons
  • Item list could easily be lost.
Description
  • Cloth bag with see-through window for hunting for shapes among white beads.
  • Available in pink, blue and yellow.
  • Costs about $15.
Guide Review - Peek-A-Boo Bags Review
Peek-A-Boo Bags are a compact game for toddlers and young children. This toy consists of a cloth bag with a plastic window sewn in. Inside the bag are white beads, and among the beads are colorful beads shaped like various objects. A list is included with the Peek-A-Boo Bag that tells all of the shape beads within. Toddlers can either hunt for fun shape beads on their own by poking, shaking and squishing the bag and looking through the plastic window, or a parent (or sibling) can name items from the list and the child can then search among the white beads for that specific item.

The children who tested this toy for me thought that hunting for the colorful beads was a lot of fun. Younger toddlers may prefer to play with the Peek-A-Boo Bag in their own way, whereas the older toddlers who tested the toy seemed to enjoy having the list items read to them. There are more than 20 shapes in the bags, so the toy can be enjoyed for quite a while without repeating the items.

The included list of items is printed on a small piece of cloth. It sticks to the bag by a snap. The detachable list is handy so that parents can read the list items even if they are not sitting right next to the child. The only downside is that it might be very easy to lose the list since it detaches.

Peek-A-Boo Bags are small enough to toss in a diaper bag or to take along on almost any trip. They come in three colors - yellow with alphabet shapes; pink with girl-theme shapes (sunglasses, purse, heart) or blue with boy-theme shapes (dinosaur, car, airplane). Peek-A-Boo Bags retail for about $15.
