Guide Review - My First Brain Quest
My First Brain Quest includes 400 questions that are designed to help toddlers develop their word skills. The questions are on sturdy, colorful cards and are bound into a thick deck that's easy for little hands to hold. Parents will appreciate that the cards can't be lost thanks to the binding. Each card features a few drawings with animal characters, with questions regarding each picture. Parents can ask the questions as they are on the card, or tailor their own question to their own child's abilities. It's also easy to engage a toddler in conversation using the pictures as a starting point. Toddlers will love the little foam monkey figure that is included with My First Brain Quest. The monkey figure can be used to point to answers on questions that ask the child to identify an object or find matches. The same monkey character appears in many of the drawings on the cards. My First Brain Quest is designed for toddlers ages 2 and 3. Though there is quite a difference in word skills between early twos and later threes, I found that toddlers on both ends of the age scale were interested in My First Brain Quest and were eager to answer the questions. For toddlers ages three and four, consider buying the Brain Quest for Threes edition, which is more advanced, but does not include the foam animal.
