Maclaren Strollers
Nov. 9, 2009 - About one million Maclaren umbrella strollers are recalled because the stroller hinge mechanism poses a laceration and fingertip amputation risk when the stroller is being unfolded or opened. All Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers are included in the recall - Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller. Maclaren has received 15 reports of a child putting their finger in the hinge mechanism, resulting in 12 fingertip amputations. Call 877-688-2326 for a free repair kit.

Target Halloween Flashlights
Oct. 28, 2009 - More than 600,000 Halloween flashlights sold at Target stores are recalled because they can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard. Three-pack mini-flashlights with key ring and full size orange and black flashlights with stencils are included in the recall. Return them to a Target store for a refund.

My Baby Soother Pacifiers
Oct. 26, 2009 - CPSC has issued a warning about "My Baby Soother" pacifiers because the nipple can detach from the shield, posing a choking hazard. The manufacturer, T&L Trading, has refused to recall the pacifiers. About 16,500 of the "My Baby Soother" pacifiers were sold in Bronx, Brooklyn, Broadway and Coney Island, N.Y., between Aug. 2007 and July 2009 for about $1 each. Stop using these pacifiers and throw them away.

Clarks Children's Shoes
Sept. 17, 2009 - About 2,000 pairs of Clarks children's shoes are recalled because molded rubber pieces on the soles can detach, posing a choking hazard. Clarks "hazy daze" and "crawlers" shoes are included. Stop using the shoes and return them to a Clarks store for a refund.

Action Figure Toys
Aug. 27, 2009 - About 8,400 action figure toys sold exclusively at Dollar Stores in Washington state and Oregon are recalled because they violate the federal lead paint standard. Force Soldier and Pirate Expeditions play sets are included. Stop using the toys and return them to the store where purchased for refund or exchange.

Baby Jogger Strollers
Aug. 27, 2009 - About 41,000 Baby Jogger City Mini strollers are recalled because the stroller's restraint buckle can unlatch or break, allowing a child to fall out. Baby Jogger Citi Mini single and double strollers are included. The list of model numbers and colors is available by clicking the headline link. Stop using the stroller and call 877-506-2213 for a replacement buckle.

Simplicity Close Sleeper Bassinets
Aug. 20, 2009 - Two additional infant deaths have prompted a new warning about previously recalled Simplicity bassinets. The bassinets, both Close Sleeper 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 models, including Graco and Winnie the Pooh licensed models, all have metal bars covered by a fabric flap. If the flap is not properly adjusted or secured, a baby can slip through the opening in the bars and become entrapped or suffocate In addition to the two new deaths linked to these bassinets, bringing the total number of infants killed to four, another two infants were entrapped in the bassinets but freed without injury. These bassinets were recalled in August 2008, and if you still have one in your home, you are urged to return it to the store where purchased.

Eebees Cloth Books
Aug. 20, 2009 - About 15,000 Eebees "Have a Ball" Adventures cloth books are recalled because the string attaching the ball to the book can become entangled in the basketball hoop portion, posing a strangulation hazard. Stop using the book immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Burley Bike Trailers
Aug. 19, 2009 - About 2,700 Burley Design d'lite ST and Solo ST bike trailers are recalled because the axle assembly's internal sleeve can loosen, causing one wheel to separate from the trailer. Only 2009 d’lite ST and Solo ST trailers with serial numbers that begin with D939 or D948 are recalled. Stop using the trailer and call 800-311-5294 for a free repair kit and information on repair assistance.

Little Tikes Toy Workshops & Trucks
Aug. 13, 2009 - About 1.6 million Little Tikes workshop sets and trucks are recalled because the oversized plastic nails can pose a choking hazard. The plastic nails are red or blue and are about 3.75" long. They came with several workshop and workbench sets, as well as with the toddler-size pickup with tools. Click the headline link for pictures and model numbers. Take the toy nails away from children immediately and call 800-791-2737 to receive new nails.

Circo Booster Seats
Aug. 6, 2009 - About 43,000 Circo booster seats sold at Target are recalled because the harness buckle can open unexpectedly, allowing a child to fall out. Blue boosters with green trim, white straps and model codes XJ0811, XJ0812, XJ0901 and XJ0902 are included in the recall. Stop using these seats and return them to Target for a refund.

Graco Jump n Jive Doorway Jumpers
July 6, 2009 - About 2,500 Jump n Jive Doorway Jumpers are recalled because fabric strips on the included toys can come loose, posing a choking hazard. Stop using the attached toys and call 800-345-4109 for replacement information.

Safety 1st Stair Gates
An previous recall of Safety 1st SmartLight stair gates has been expanded to include 31,500 additional gates. The hinges that hold the gate in place can break, allowing a child to fall. This recall covers model 42111 manufactured before Dec. 20, 2008. Call 866-690-2540 for a repair kit.

Yayita Baby Hammocks
Aug. 4, 2009 - Two Yayita Baby Hammock models have been recalled because the hammocks can flip over, entrapping a baby in the restraint straps. The cream-colored canvas hammocks hang from a wooden pole. "La Siesta" is printed on a label below the restraint straps. Model YABN-1 was sold by Nova Natural for about $100. Call 877) 668-2111 for a replacement hammock. Model YABP-1 was sold by Kaplan Early Learning for about $100. Call 800-334-2014 for credit towards another product.
