The Bottom Line
This DVD for babies and toddlers has great acoustic covers of classic songs from artists parents might already love (Springsteen! Neil Diamond! Fleetwood Mac!), redone in ways that appeal to the whole family. If you're looking for a baby DVD that won't overstimulate your baby or toddler, and with music that you won't be ashamed to hum in the elevator at work, That Baby DVD is the perfect choice.
Pros

Guide Review - That Baby DVD Review
That Baby DVD had my attention from the very first song, a pretty acoustic version of Donovan Lietch's "Happiness Runs," which happens to be one of my favorite songs. More importantly, That Baby DVD had the attention of the under-four crowd in the room from the very first song, and kept them interested through the closing credits. The music on this DVD is set to a series of still images, videos of kids playing and dancing, some digital abstract art (which I found to be really relaxing to watch) and a few cartoon-type segments.

There is no lengthy storyline or plot for the 35-minute DVD. I think this is actually a good thing for smaller babies and toddlers. So much of the entertainment we offer our little ones today is fast-paced and flashy. That Baby DVD offers a nice change of pace. It's very soothing. The colors are rich. The kids are happy and cute and engaging. The toddlers I watched the DVD with thought it was great fun to try to imitate the kids in the DVD who were singing and dancing along with the music. Maybe your baby won't learn to read War and Peace while watching That Baby DVD, but you might get more than 30 minutes to get something done while baby watches. You'll probably love the music coming from your TV, too.

The music selections are unique for a baby DVD, and they're all upbeat but soothing at the same time. I like that some of the songs have an inspirational message, too. Why didn't I think of teaching my daughter to sing Jonny Lang's "Anything is Possible" before? Brilliant!

That Baby DVD can be enjoyed by babies, toddlers and parents alike. If you're looking for a fun, soothing DVD with music that won't have you embarrassed when the songs get stuck in your head and you're humming them at the grocery store, I think you'll like That Baby DVD. You can take the music on the road with That Baby CD, too.
