Definition: A baby wrap carrier does exactly what it sounds like - it wraps itself around you and your baby. A wrap is a long strip of fabric that goes around the wearer's body several times and tied in a way that creates a secure pocket for the baby to sit or lay.
Many of the same carrying positions are possible with a wrap as with baby slings, except that the wrap is usually positioned over both of the wearer's shoulders, which may be more comfortable for some people. The idea of wrapping the long strip of fabric around and tying it seems challenging to many new babywearers, but baby wrap devotees say after the first few times it's just as easy as any other baby carrier.
