Guide Review - Kalencom Potette Plus Travel Potty Chair Review

Taking a tiny toddler into an adult size restroom can be tricky, and sometimes downright gross. The Potette Plus Potty Chair gives parents another option for emergency bathroom breaks that doesn't involve precariously balancing your precious baby on a filthy public toilet or trying to teach a toddler how to pee on the side of the road without soaking his or her clothing.

This travel size potty chair can be used independently, thanks to sturdy legs that fold out underneath. You then attach one of the absorbent liners (they're a bit like a thin disposable diaper) and let the toddler use the potty. The liner catches the mess, and the liner handles can be neatly tied up for easy disposal. You can use the Potette nearly anywhere, so it helps maintain some consistency when you're potty training a toddler. You can also use the Potette as a toilet seat insert to make it toddler-size, so it pulls double-duty.

The Potette is fairly easy to use. The legs unfold easily. They were a little sticky to re-fold, but not hard. At least I knew they weren't going to fold up while a toddler was sitting on the potty seat! Considering that the Potette is designed to hold up to a 50 lb. child, the legs and hinges do need to be pretty stout to handle that load safely.

I like that the Potette folds pretty flat for travel - it's about 9 inches square and less than 3 inches thick when folded. You could easily just keep this travel potty in your vehicle for emergencies. It comes with a carrying bag that you could put the Potette and a stash of liners in for roadside stops.

The price is right for this travel potty, too. Potette Plus Potty Chair costs about $16, and the liners are about $5 for ten.
