Q. What is a Diaper Doubler?

From Sally Tusa, for About.com

A. A diaper doubler does exactly what it sounds as though it should do: It doubles the absorbency capacity of a cloth diaper. Just insert one of these handy little cloth rectangles (they look a lot like maxi-pads, just thinner) into whatever type of cloth diaper your baby uses, and it will absorb extra wetness. A doubler does add to the bulkiness of the diaper, so it's best used at night, but if you find that your baby is soaking right through at every change, a doubler will help during the day, too. They usually come in packages of two or three and start at around $1 each - the softer the fabric, the pricier the doubler.
