PeaPod Travel Tents Recall

By November 28, 2012

Follow me on:

About 220,000 PeaPod and PeaPod Plus travel beds from KidCo are recalled because babies and toddlers can roll off the edge of the inflatable mattress and become trapped between the mattress and the fabric tent sides. This poses a suffocation risk. In December 2011, a 5-month-old boy was found dead with his face pressed against the tent fabric. The cause of death was not determined. Another 9 incidents of entrapment or distress were reported to CPSC or Health Canada, but these incidents did not result in any deaths.

The model number is listed on a small tag underneath the tent. The following model numbers and colors are included in the recall: P100 Teal, P101 Red, P102 Lime, P103 Periwinkle, P104 Ocean, P201 Princess/Red, P202 Camouflage, P203 Quick Silver, P204 Sagebrush, P205 Cardinal, P900CS Green.

If you own one of these recalled travel beds, stop using it for now. Contact KidCo at 855-847-8600 or kidco.com to receive a free repair kit.
