It's not often that we see a new, big-brand player in the disposable diaper market, but here it is. Fisher Price recently launched a new line of disposable diapers called Happy Days & Nights. There are two styles of diapers in the line, one made for daytime use, and another that is specifically shaped for catching leaks while baby sleeps. The diapers are color-coded so you can tell the difference - white for daytime, blue for night. Best of all, Fisher Price didn't go sky-high with the cost. A regular pack of Fisher Price daytime disposable diapers costs about $10, and the smaller night time packs cost about $6.
But do they work? Like any disposable diaper, the exact fit and effectiveness will vary by baby. However, the initial feedback I've gotten from moms is that these diapers are pretty good. Fisher Price gave me a few sample diapers, so I found some moms to try them out. One mom said she really liked these diapers, and would try them again. "They didn't leak at all around the waist where I have trouble with my son at night," she said. "I really also liked the stretchable waist band with the indicator to whether they were too tight or too loose."
Have you tried the new Fisher Price disposable diapers? What did you think?

We’ve been using the FP night time diapers for about a week now, and I’ve definitely formed an opinion – I don’t like them. I really, really wanted to like them because they’re quite a bit cheaper than the Huggies Overnights, but when this package runs out, I won’t be buying more.
The tabs are kind of hard to get un-stuck from the back of the diaper. As in, I think I might actually tear them OFF in my attempts to get them loose. The waistband indicator is an interesting idea, but by now I hope I can figure out how tight my son’s diaper needs to be. The cover feels a little bit like the back side of the chux pads they put under him during diaper changes at the hospital. That’s neither good nor bad, just different than what I’m used to.
I did like the fact that there’s a little bit of elastic at the front of the diaper as well as the back. And these things hold a LOT of liquid. We did have a leak one night, but he’s a very heavy wetter and had drank an unusually large amount overnight that time. I don’t know if the Hoover Dam could have held that night.
What makes me HATE these diapers though, is that they STINK. I don’t know if it’s a chemical reaction with whatever they use for absorption, or a difference in materials that doesn’t hold the smell in as well as the Huggies or something else, but it’s not good. When we get up in the morning, the smell is nearly gag-inducing and I’ve wondered several times if he was poopy because of it. With the Huggies I can smell the urine (how could you not, when there’s that much) but it has never smelled like this.
Overall, it’s a decent night time diaper and it does perform well, other than that one night. The smell was just too much for me to overlook, though. We’re going back to Huggies when these are gone.
Wow, Wendy, thanks for sharing that. How the diapers themselves smell is actually a way bigger deal to most parents than one might imagine. There were a few brands that worked for other people that I found to be weird-smelling, too.
I have been using this diapers for about 2 months and LOVE them. We have had leaks with other brands and none so far with these. I do have to say that I do find the tabs a bit akward but that has not stopped me from buying them. As for the smell, I don’t find that they smell at all. I will continue to use these!
I havent tried these yet, but im not sure if i will now. I have a very big issue with the smelling problem. If its just like the huggies naturals, then forget it. The smell is horrific…thanks for the advice!
I LOVE these diapers!
They hold the hoover dam. The overnights are amazing.
Love the price and the fact that they come with FP coupons.
The box is $20 at Toys R Us, they include day and night diapers and with the $2 coupon they end up at $18 for the box.
absolutly LOVE THESE!!!!
Want to know where I can get free samples on fp diapers. Really want to try them
I love love love these diapers. The nighttime diapers are totally amazing. We had major nighttime leaks in every other diaper we tried except for this one. I can’t believe how much liquid these hold- they weight about 10 pounds when you take tham off in the morning! I have not ever noticed a smell. My only complaint is that they are a little hard to find, so it isn’t as convenient as popping into the drug store at the corner and grabbing some. I’d highly recommend!
