Munire Recalls 3,000 Cribs Due to Lead Paint

Saturday December 27, 2008
The red paint beneath the black surface finish on Munire Newport Rubbed Black cribs contains lead, so the company recently issued a recall of 3,000 of the 4-in-1 cribs, as well as about 6,000 matching nursery furniture pieces, including dressers, armoires and bookcases. One child who ingested the the paint from this crib model was diagnosed with lead poisoning. You can check the model numbers for the recalled Munire cribs and furniture pieces at CPSC.gov. If your baby's crib is recalled, stop using it and call Munire at 866-586-9639 or visit MunireFurniture.com. The company will send a coupon so that you can exchange your crib or recalled furniture free of charge.

For information on other recalled baby products, please visit the Current Baby Products Recalls page.

These manufacturing companies must be held accountable to US testing standards. I have a child, and this recall seems like gross neglegence to me.
