Evenflo Recalls 95,000 Majestic High Chairs

Thursday December 18, 2008
Plastic caps and metal screws on both sides of the high chair that can loosen and fall out are behind a recent recall of about 95,000 Evenflo Majestic high chairs. When the plastic caps and metal screws fall off, they are considered small parts and pose a choking hazard to small children. If a child is in the high chair and the caps and screws fall out, the high chair's seatback can suddenly fall back or detach, allowing the child to fall. More than 40 injuries have been reported, including two reports of broken bones.

Only Evenflo Majestic high chairs made before January 23, 2007 are included in the recall. Affected model numbers include 3001395A, 3001583, 3001633A, 3001669, 3001700A, 3001713, 3001713A, 3001730A, 3001732, 3001732A, 3001733, 3001742, 3001742A and 3001756. You can find the manufacture date and model number on a white label on the seatback. If your Evenflo Majestic high chair is one of those that is recalled, stop using it for now. You can get a repair kit from Evenflo by calling 800-233-5921 or visiting www.majestichighchair.com.
