Graco Recalls 40,000 ComfortSport Car Seats
Wednesday December 10, 2008
A partially obscured airbag warning label on Frazier pattern ComfortSport convertible car seats prompted Graco to issue a recall recently. The extra body pillow included with the car seat covers part of the label. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, which sets requirements for car seats, says airbag warning labels cannot be obscured even partially. Model numbers 8C04FRR and 8C04FRR2 that were manufactured between Nov. 1, 2006 and Oct. 8, 2007 are included in the recall. Graco will notify registered owners of affected car seats. The fix for this recall is simple - you just need to remove the extra body pillow. It's designed to add comfort, and doesn't actually affect the safety of the car seat at all.

I have to say, I LOVE Graco. I understand that it is the law to not cover the tag, but they easily recall items with even the tiniest issue for the safety of our kids, unlike some other companies (that rhyme with nimplicity). For Graco, it isn’t about how much money it costs. It’s about our kids, and they are the most important thing..
