About 12,000 bottles of Mylicon Gas Relief Dye-Free Non-Staining Drops are recalled because some bottles could contain metal fragments produced during the manufacturing process. In a press release, the company said the potential for serious medical events related to the metal fragments is low, but parents who have given their infants Mylicon drops from affected lots and are concerned should contact their doctors. The company further stated that any medical events that occurred would likely be temporary and likely would not require medical treatment to resolve.

The one-ounce bottles were distributed after Oct. 5, 2008, across the U.S., and have lot number SMF007 or SMF008. The lot number is found on the bottom of the box or on the lower left side of the bottle sticker. Stop using the product and call 800-222-9435 or visit mylicon.com for replacement or refund information.
