Similac Advance Formula Recall

Wednesday September 20, 2006
If you're looking for information on the Sept. 2006 recall of Similac Advance and Similac Alimentum Advance baby formula, please visit thisrecent Similac formula recall page.

In Feb. 2005, the makers of Similac Advance baby formula announced a voluntary recall of one lot of 12.9 oz. cans of Similac Advance with Iron. The recalled products were distributed from mid-September to mid-October 2004, mostly to stores in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and the eastern half of the U.S. A manufacturing problem resulted in black plastic particles being found in some cans in this lot. The lot number, 20307RB, can be found on the bottom of the cans. If you have a can of Similac Advance with Iron baby formula that is part of this recall, contact Ross Products Division at 800–986–8884. No serious injuries have been reported with this recall.

my dad went to purchase alimentum at the local wal-mart and was told they did’nt have any cans becaus thier was a recall. i have tried to research this on the computer ( find out if this is true) and have not been able to find anything. He was able to purchase the pre-made plastic bottles. thier is a number to call but its the responsability of the company to have this information posted on the web site for the consumer.

I being using Isomil Advance with Iron for 10 months since my baby was born. Today I open a can and the can and formula (after mix) smells terrible. Like a metal. I keep opening all the cans I have and smell the same. There are different batch no. Please take this product out and let me know what I need to do. I’m scare my baby will have serious problems. So far he is having a “cold” but not sure if is because of the formula.
Thank you
